Tab With A Cause | Google Chrome Extension Reveiw

I recently found an awesome extension while searching the Google chrome web store for random apps and extensions. Awesome thing about this extension is that it works within the browser so when ever you open a new tab you gain a heart. In turn these hearts gain can be donated to your chosen charity. Now I don't know if there is any real effect behind donating these hearts but I do know that knowing that I have the potential to possibly help someone while just doing my normal browsing feels pretty awesome!

Downloading the extension is pretty simple. You can follow these steps to easily download and use the extension or you can watch this video to follow along

Step 1. Click your chrome 3 dotted menu button

Step 2. Go to "More tools" and click "Extensions"

Step 3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Get more extensions" 

Step 4. Search for "Tab for a cause"

Step 5. Click "Add To Chrome"
Step 6. Click "Add Extension"

And...thats it! Your done.

-Using Tab for a Cause-

Once installation of the Tab for a Cause  extension is complete just open a new tab and start earning hearts by using the Tab for a cause search bar or by inviting your friends and everyone you know to "save the world one tab at a time." If you think about how much your surf the web and how many tabs you open, you could do a lot just by going about your normal routine.

-What I like about Tab for a Cause-

The fact that you can donate to charity just by opening a tab is awesome and it make you feel a little bit better about spending all that time surfing the net when you could be doing other things. Me personally I use this extension at work mainly because I do in fact open a lot of tabs and I do search for a lot of things so I just makes since to incorporate this into the tools I use. So not only am I getting work done but I am also saving the world 1 tab at a time! It's also very seamless in the way it works. You won't have to deal with a lot of pop ups ads or notifications.

-What I don't like about Tab for a Cause-

Now the problem I have is not so much with the goal that this extension is trying to accomplish. The problem I have is the fact that you have to search on their home page to earn hearts. Now I understand that the whole premise of this extension is to have people open tabs but honestly if you want people to earn hearts from search then you have to make that option more convenient to the user. One suggestion is maybe having a toolbar to have that search bar in a convenient place or for those who dislike toolbars, like me for instance, Tab with a cause could utilize a panel type layout like tubebuddy or VidIQ where there is a button you can click and a drop down panel that has your hearts, a donation button and even a search bar. That could add convenient to the search's location. That way while on other websites you can keep a tab on your progress *pun intended*. I also wish they had more charity to donate to. Another thing I dislike about this extension is the fact that when you want to donate you have to donate all of you hearts at once as opposed to being able to donate a specific amount of hearts to a specific charities. personally i would see it better that way because it give tabbers the ability to suppost multiple charities at once.

-Final Thoughts-

Overall I feel like this is a great extension if you are looking for a way to go about your normal routine while making a difference. This extension is really seamless and works wel to not be so intrusive while browsing. I'm not completely sure though if it replaces your home screen for chrome upon installation. I like this extension but feel like Tab with a Cause can be upgraded with very useful features that will make the experience with the extension a lot more better in quality. My rating for this extension  is a 3.5 out of 5☆ because its an OK extension BUT...it could be better
