Hush App Run-Through & Review

This on is for my ladies looking to buy affordable makeup and supplies. I can upon this app when I got an offer to review this app and it's services. I initially was against the idea to do this review mainly because I have never used makeup before but then I thought this would actually be a good opportunity to cater to my female audience. Also I haven't done an App Run-Through & Review in a while. I guess it's time to "makeup" for lost time! This App Run-Through & Review is specifically for the android version of the app. I will all also give my thoughts on the Hush website which will be exclusive to the Blog and will not be in the video on YouTube

Hush on Google Play
Hush is available on Google Play and IOS.
On Google Play. Hush has an overall rating of a 4.6 out of 5☆. Most of the negative reviews, which there aren't that many, seem to come from people having trouble logging in and checking out when purchasing products. I will cover this in another post when I try out the service. Who knows there may be a special gift in that post...stay tuned. Hush is also ranked the #9 free beauty app on the Google Play Store which is no surprise seeing the reviews it is getting. Overall this app is obviously a hit and is on the rise.

Layout of application
Throughout the app there are 3 tabs: The Special Deals, Catalog and Settings Tabs. The special deals tab shows you all of the special deals that you may find during the holidays or when they have a surplus of items. In the app you can only scroll up and down on this tab and one of the things that I don't like is that you can't swipe left or right to get to your other tabs. You are actually stuck with clicking a button at the bottom of the screen for your desired tab. You can see this in my Hush App Run-Through and Review on YouTube.

The Catalog tab shows all the products available for purchase. Here you can find a good amount of categories for your specific needs. Just in case you were wondering there are 26 categories to be exact and you even have some cool categories like Just For You, Featured, New Arrivals, Best Sellers and $2 and Under if the low prices is what suits your fancy. Lastly there is the Settings tab where you can find all the info about the app and your account. At the current moment I don't have an account for hush but I will further explore that in the future when I look into the issues others have been having. That's basically the layout of the whole app. I can say that the layout of the Hush App is very simplistic but there are some things that I thing would improve the layout functionality of the app. An example Is the fact that on the special offers tab and the Settings tab you can't swipe left or right to access other tabs but inside the catalog tab you can swipe left and right to access the different item categories. That to me is the aggravating factor, if this was used across the whole app and the item categories were to be placed in a drop down like menu then it would feel more uniform across the app.

Navigation of the application
Now even though the Hush App has a very simplistic layout I have to say that the navigation around this app is moderately clunky. It's not bad to the point where I had a hard time using the app but it is tolerable. I definitely wish they had it like other apps where you can swipe left and right from tab to tab. I'm sure it would make a huge difference in navigating through the app.

Website

So I checked out the website because a lot of reviewers said they prefer the website over the app. I wanted to see if the website possibly promised more than the app and what I found was intriguing and a little confusion, not in a bad way but in a "why is there a difference here" type of confusion ya know. When I got on the website I immediately saw " Free U.S Shipping on Orders over $25" when it clearly states on the app in the Google Play Store "Free shipping on ALL Orders. No Minimums". This is the confusion I was talking about. I mean is this only for the app users or for all users. One of my pet peeves is when company's are not clear with their provided services. Take the South Star Digital "4K" Action Camera i got burned on for a prime example. This needs to be clarified and corrected. Other than that everything looked in order with the Featured items on the front page along with the drop down menus for the item categories, which works well for the website. i also noticed that with the categories there is there are way more categories on the website than there are on the app. In that sense it's like the app seems to be the water down version of the website. Maybe that's what Hush was aiming for but it is always a good thing to provide an equally appealing experience across all platforms rather have one provide a better experience than the other. i can see now why people were saying that they prefer the site. in comparison to the app, on the website there are more item selections available and the navigation of the website is on point.

Pros
My pros for the Hush App is the wide variety of categories for items listed. These categories are also organised in a way where if you are looking for anything specific then you are sure to find what you need. I also like the simplistic layout that this app has. There is no webbed layout, meaning the tabs are tabs and you don't have to click option after option to find what you need, that's convenient and makes the main focus of finding items easy.

Cons
My cons for this app is the fact that you can't swipe left or right to navigate the main tabs of the app. It makes the app feel non-uniform when navigating the app. It doesn't completely ruin the experience but it does make it frustrating at times when you are swiping left and right in the catalog tab and have to manually switch tabs via a button on the app. This could be improved by either a adding the swiping feature across the entire app or at the very least adding the swipe feature to the tab buttons at the bottom of the screen. Also there is no search/filter feature on the app. considering the amount of items and item categories that is listed there at least should be some way to easily find specific items/brands out of the products being sold and leaving customers to manual search all the items and categories is sure to eventually less the customer experience.

Who This App Is For
Obviously this app is for the makeup fanatics of the world. With great prices and supposedly free shipping with no minimums on the app...or free shipping on orders over $25 on the website, who would turn down a deal like that.

Conclusion
All in all i say if you love makeup and you want to buy it at affordable prices check out Hush and see if it works for you. I don't Normally do this but i will go ahead and prefer you use the website for the main fact that you will have a larger selection of items to choose from at the same affordable prices. Also by all means check out the app and see how it works for you. My rating for the Hush App and website is a 3.5 out of 5. My experience with navigation throughout the app was not horrible but it could use some improvement. navigation on the website was more fluent. the marketing of shipping is confusing and unclear. this needs to be fixed or clarified so that people know if shipping is free or do they have to spend $25 just to get free shipping. To me the app is a good app. it just needs some improvements to get better.
