My Thoughts on the Current State of YouTube

    Now I have never been the one to whine and complain but in this case I need to express my concern about the matter of my content being judge by YouTube and its new AI bot they are using to more easily handle the issue of the monetization of controversial content. I will be straight up with you all... i am going to be bias to the content that i create but at the same time i will, for fair cause, do my best to not completely bash YouTube and at least give credit where credit is due.

The Purpose of My Channel & Content
    To be honest when i first starting making videos i did it for the main intent was to entertain friends and those who happen to have click on one of my videos. at this point in time YouTube did not have the YouTube Partnership program back in 2010. i only had 17 subscribers and got about 3 to 5 view on average per video in the exception to some of the video that obviously had some type of replay value whether it be comedic, passion driven, or controversial. i continued creating content even if only a few people watched even if i only got 1 comment saying that i made some type of impact. The purpose of my content is for me to be able make an impact in the world and be know for for that said inpact not for money, fame or any of the sort. i know that alot of people will question that if this is the case then why am i even thinking about writing this Post. Just read on and you will surely understand the purpose of this post and its importance

The Ad-Pocolype
    To start out i you have no idea and this is the first time you are hearing about this i Ad-pocolypse then to simply put, Advertisers Have pulled there ads from YouTube because their ads were found on content that in their eyes is controversial and in no way supports the mission/views of their company. This could be anything from news, politics, sensitive topics etc. i for one did not expect that it would be as bad as it has gotten. I did know that alot of people would have their content demonetized for obviouse reasons but for my chanell i did not think that this issue would hit my channel as it did being that i havent been making any type of controversial content that would deserve to demonetiezed. I will on the other hand say that i wont claim to be completely clean the context of my content. in other words i have made some videos that i myself find controversial and can understand how and why they got demonetized. i am sure alot of people on YouTube have some type of controversial content on their channel and alot may not. all it boils down to is YouTubes reaction to this issue.

YouTube's New Learning A.I Bot

    Looking at YouTube now and the whole situation with the Ad-pocolypse i can understand why they have implemented this new system i just dont understand how it took ads being placed on controversial content and advertisers to pull their ads for them to throw this learning A.I bot on its users causing alot of people to be affected by this. YouTube's new learning A.I bot is now running rampant all over YouTube deeming alot of videos as "Not Advertiser Friendly" and stripping ads off the videos even if they are not controversial in the slightest only later to be reviewed manually and be deemed as "Advertiser Friendly". some examples is Casey Neistat who has voiced his opinion about this and has even shown that his videos were demonetized only later to be monetize with out notice of why the video was demonetized in the first place. this issue has hit my channel also where i would upload a video within all of YouTube's guidelines only for my video to be deemed as "Not Advertiser Friendly". i really started to notice this when every video that i uploaded to YouTube would be deemed as not advertiser friendly within 5 minutes of upload and process. I am not sure why this happens but it has been consistant over the last three months and has even happened when i just plainly upload the video with no metadata or any modifications at all. This was originally a one month test but i ended up stretching it out for 3 months to have a solid amount of data. I have tried a whole slew of things to try and avoid this but nothing has worked even uploading the raw file hasnt worked. With that said i think that YouTube has it out for me and probably alot of other channels and even if it is just this new A.I bot learning to find controversial content anyone who consumes my content will see that 98% of it is not at all controversial. If this is happening to me then it has to be happening to a lot more non controversial content creators.

YouTube As a Platform - The Good, The Bad & the Ugly
    Despite all the irritants with YouTube's New bot I have i actually enjoy watching and creating content on YouTube as it has a lot of helpful features that alot of other sites dont have. though this is on the surface of what youtube is. Yes as a part of google YouTube has the funds technology and software to get the job dont on fixing bugs and such with the website. The question is YouTube willing to fix what the users have constantly complained about or are they in it for the advertisers. Looking at the state of YouTube alot of users will say that YouTube Is breaking their backs to please the advertisers because they are giving money and if we look deeper into the situation this "New A.I Bot" that YouTube has created is obviously for the advertisers. They are neglecting the requests of the content creators just to please the advertisers. what they failed to realize is that YouTube would be nothing without its content creators and advertisers. On google a few years ago the result for the search of YouTube was "Express yourself" but now they want people to censor themselves just to please the advertisers. So due to the demands of the advertisers and YouTube's fear of losing the advertisers... not the content creators but the advertisers YouTube is willing to do anything to keep them around. All i have to say is that they content creators were here way before the advertisers and with out the content creators YouTube would not be as big as it is now. Just imagine what it would be like if YouTube never gain the traction it did and faded out with all the other irrelavent ideas in the world. YouTube needs to realise that a large portion of their success is because of the user base that created the atmosphere of twhat is YouTube. YouTube needs to give credit where credit is due.

The freedom of creativity
    To put it simply YouTube is no longer a place for expressive creativity and I am not saying this because of YouTube's constant judgements of my content. I saying this because YouTube is now becoming television and so many content creators have suffered because their freedom of creativity has been breached. On YouTube we as creators can't express ourself as we once was and it is hurtful to the creators to know that a company that built by creators has not become a company who cares more about money than what has an equal value to the advertisers...the creators.

Conclusion
    I really think that YouTube has the potential to be great but at this time it's only downhill as far as the content creators are concerned. This is because of YouTube's brash decision to favor the Advertisers rather them the creators who's content is what shows up on the main page of YouTube. YouTube you need to start treating the people who are creating content for your website with more respect. At the very least treat us the same as you treat the advertisers... listen to us... give us what we want because we are equally if not more responsible for the success of YouTube than the advertisers. Always remember that we was here way before the advertisers and it is because of our content that the advertisers started coming to you wanting to promote theirs companies through ads.
